    Hello,

I use Contact Form 7 for people visiting different areas of my website to send me a message so my problem may be slightly different than others.

In the TO field I have to use my domain email address and in the FROM field I have to use tags to pull the person sending me the msg so I have [your-name] <[your-email]> in the FROM field and it is giving me a validation error because it is not showing the website’s domain in the FROM field.

For the most part, the email sent to my visitors is sent using my newsletter signup validator integrated with Contact Form 7.

Is there a way for it to validate that the FROM field has a proper email tag instead of it having a hard coded email address?

    God Bless,
    Shawn

This is so disappointing. Why this update? No-one has the same e-mail address as the website where they fill in the form!

You can bypass it by putting your email address in the FROM line, for example: [name] <[email protected]>. Then it works again. Put the e-mail address from the sender in the message.

But we’re looking for another contact form as long as this isn’t resolved.

Why must the From email address be the same as the domain name of the site its on? .

An email should be from ANYONE in the world using any legitimate email address other than the web site’s domain name.

    Please fix it.

Otherwise, this is still the best form generator for WordPress and much respected.

I agree, I will probably start looking for a different form plugin if this does not get resolved. Yes, it is free, and, it has been great, just confused why it is a PIA now.

Same issue here with the from address. I am using this form on a LOT OF SITES! I sure don’t have the time to go change them all because of some update that is causing MORE ERRORS! PLEASE FIX THIS.

My clients are contacting me because of it, when there is no REAL issue. Everyone is still getting the emails, but the error is very disconcerting. It’d be nice if once you pressed the X, the error didn’t come back!

    Sample confused message from colleague:

However need to ask if you can have a look at the contact widget on one of my sites (anyone) they also seem to be not working and it is something to do with a verification? Have you come across this, what do I need to do?

Please remove this check that is simply giving bogus warnings.

Beyond annoying… Unless fixed ASAP I’m out hours of work to switch to an alternative – how can I back off to previous release?

Previous release would be fine with me also.
