Contact Form 7 – v5.1 reCaptcha is broken?

  • I have had to revert back to the old CF7 version 5.0.5 because the v2 reCaptcha robot is not visible with latest update?

    Mr. Takayuki Miyoshi any chance of a fix coming soon?

    BTW: Love the form plugin !!

  • You must update ReCaptcha to v3 and then you can remove all [recaptcha] tags

    I dont want v3 I am quite content with v2 reCaptcha

    Its bugged and we need a fix soon i hope

    Why are we forced to use v3 anyway wasnt that an option?

    The latest version hasn’t implemented V3 correctly and people are being bombarded with spam. Until the author updates to fix the plugin you can download a previous version here:

    https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/contact-form-7/advanced/

    Just scroll to the bottom and use the dropdown menu to select the last version.

    If you ever need to do this with other plugins, go to the main download page for any plugin and on the right hand side there’s an option ‘Advanced View’ just above the ratings.

    I have been testing Contact Form 7 v5.1 and it appears that v2 reCaptcha is no longer supported in the latest update?

    I would be OK with converting to v3 reCaptcha if the icon wasn’t placed on ALL WEB PAGES thou?! its rather annoying

    If anyone can shed some light as to why or if the Contact Form 7 has an option to remove reCaptcha watermark icon (bottom right) from non forms? – that would be great!

    Yup, recaptcha v2 was replaced with recaptcha v3. Completely. No options to use v2.

    There are two variants to use recaptcha v2:
    1) downgrade CF7 into version < 5.1 (for example, 5.0.5)
    2) install plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpcf7-recaptcha/ that brings that functionality back from Contact Form 7

    Hi yes I have done exactly that on all my 30+ WordPresses :8(

    Its a drag frankly because the new v3 reCaptcha places as a watermark on all pages.
    Not just form pages where it belongs?

    Not only that, the community of users from what I have read dislike v3 because they claim the SPAM is poorly filtered in comparison to the good ole ROBOT v2.

    SO unless someone has a fix? I will be using Contact Form 5.0.5
