    Hi,
the “Contact Form” button will not show on the Ad details page only if in the Ad details you do not have the Contact Email field filled (as then there is no one to send the message to).

    Hi Greg,

I just found a button in the privacy settings that allow email contact. Does this have a default setting? can it be set to allow? Can it be set when creating a profile?

    Thanks

I’ve just Changed the privacy settings and my rtest advert still doesn’t show the contact form or telephone number – see: https://truckbay.net/advert/mercedes/

    Thanks

The privacy settings in Authors do not have anything to do with, the privacy settings turn on/off the contact form on Author details pages.

Again, to have the contact form visible on the Ad details page you need to have in the [adverts_add] form a field named “adverts_email” and the field needs to be filled.

If the email is not provided then the Contact Form button or form does not show as there is no-one to send the message to.

In the next WPAdverts release the Contact Form will try to pull the email address from user profile, but for now the email address needs to be explicitly provided in the Ad.

Thanks, I ‘ve added that and it’s working again. When I added the authors addition I thought that might mean I didn’t need to add the contact info everytime I added an advert.

Is the authors add on not meant to provide this information?

In next release, the contact form will be always visible if the ad was posted by a logged in user (as all users need to provide a valid email).

This means that if a user has a profile filled in the Authors plugin then he will not need to enter the email in the [adverts_add].
