    Hi Meg,

First off, love your plugin! works great and looks fantastic!

I have been using it on a new website we finished re-designing, the contact form was working fine for a few weeks then since last week when you try to complete the form and it goes to send, a “Sorry, there has been a problem and your message was not sent.” error is displayed.

Can you please advise on what would be the solution to fix this?

    Thank you!!!

The contact form uses the wordpress function wp_mail to send the email. If you’re getting that error it means that wordpress itself has a problem.

Are you getting any email notifications from wordpress such as when someone comments?

Has anything changed on your hosting server, perhaps you should raise this with your hosting provider ?

    Thanks, Meg

    Thanks for the quick response!

Re-installed wordpress and updated plugins, then also saw a post about using the WP SMTP plugin and used the server settings in the plugin.
Sent a test e-mail and it went through fine and then that seemed to fix the contact form page aswell.

Now it confirms that the message has been sent and doesnt show any errors. However, even though it says message is sent, the client never recieves the e-mail with the contact details.

Would this be an issue with our hosting provider using a windows based server like the issue in this post?

Yes, check your smtp settings and also you could try setting the ‘From Address’. This will force all emails to come from the same address (the senders email address will be in the message of course). Sometimes host providers don’t allow you to send from any address.

    Hope you sort it.

We’ve figured out a solution of putting a different e-mail which is linked to staff member. The tech team they use isn’t to helpful in this area!
Thanks again for the help, really appreciate the effort you put in to make the plugin!

Meg– Help! I’m also stuck on this. I have WP3.7.1 (auto-updating), CSCF 4.2.5 with WP SMTP but I just updated from the previous CSCF which also had the problem. When I send from the WP SMTP test form, all is fine. When I send from CSCF I get “Sorry, there has been a problem and your message was not sent.”

All was well when I last checked so problem is since 2013-11-19 at the earliest. Thanks.

Oh, heck, now I’m confused. It’s working again. I don’t think I made a net change to anything but I did re-enter the original sole destination address then add and remove an additional address. Did that sort out the stored CSCF options or something? Anyway, solved for the moment!

    Hi,

I have a similar issue as above, however the form doesn’t send (or do anything when I click send) when re-captcha is enabled. If I disable it, the emails send.

I am using a subdomain for the blog eg. inside.mydomain.com which I have registered a public and private key and entered into the settings.
I also have a separate captcha for the main domain eg. mydomain.com.

I read that only one re-captcha can be enabled per domain.. does that include sub domains? I know this is not to do with your plugin.. but failing that the subdomain recaptcha is the problem, I may have an issue with your plugin.
Which is great by the way!

Can you give me a URL with reacaptcha enabled?
    Thanks Meg

    link is here

    woops. Sorry. inside.freshnearyou.com/contact-us

PS: I also created Global re-captcha keys, used the primary keys for the main domain, and created new keys, none of which worked.

I was trying to find out what the problem is so I turned of javascript on my browser. When I did this none of the content is displayed on your site (which by the way would be a problem if your visitor does not have javascript enabled, not everyone does). So that makes it more difficult to diagnose.
Can you try disabling ajax for the contact form? You can do this in the settings screen, just uncheck ‘Use client side validation (AJAX) :’ at the bottom of the screen.

    Hi,

I had already turned off Ajax validation and tried it. The only way this form works is if I remove the re-captcha option. Then it sends fine.

I know that if I try to enter the re-captcha in incorrectly, there is no error message.

So we can rule out any incompatibilities with other plugins can you change your theme to twenty thirteen or fourteen and tell me if it works?

    Hi Megs,

    Happy new year!

Yeah.. I changed it to 2013 and it sent even with re-captcha enabled.
    Thoughts?

    Happy New Year.
There is obviously an incompatibility with your theme, Breeze. Is it a premium one? The plugin itself works, but it is the recaptcha library from google which is not working. I suspect you will have the same issue if you use another WP plugin with recaptcha.
Do you have support with this theme? I think you might have a better result if you approach the theme author.
