  • Hi Beth,

You should check with your host to see if there are any errors on their end.

Also, you could use a SMTP plugin to send the mail through your mail server instead of your website host’s server.

Let me know if that helps, or if you have any other questions.

Are you using a Contact Form plugin? Such as Contact Form 7? Or is it part of your theme? That would help in the diagnosis.

If you install an SMTP plugin like this one, the email log will help us tell you what is wrong: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/postman-smtp/

@raynick and Jason: The contact form is part of the theme. Does that help? It’s WP Sela theme.

Hi Beth. I don’t think that’s true. I installed the theme and didn’t see any code for contacting or emailing. Did you create the site or did a developer do it for you?

If you look in the “Plugins” section, you might see something like : Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Contact Form Builder, Visual Forms Builder, Fast Secure Contact Forms… any of those could power the Contact Form on your site. If you can find the one you have, we will be able to tell you how to make sure it’s setup properly.

I think it must be Jetpack since I don’t recall downloading any of those plug-ins. I will see if I can figure out where to configure Jetpack.

Jetpack uses a [contact-form] shortcode to create the form. I’ve seen an issue like this before.

Unfortunately, I am not a Jetpack user, so I can’t tell you how to configure it or even check that it’s right. Hopefully Jeremy Herve (@jeherve) see this and can chime in. You might want to repost this in the Jetpack support forum.

If it’s not a Jetpack problem I can help you with the email configuration part.

I installed a wp mail stmp but it’s not working either. I couldn’t use the postman version because I don’t have the email systems you have listed. I use a pop server for my private email and my other two are through my wp sites and are hostgator accounts. I am hoping Jetpack returns my emails – I’ve sent two over the past two days. Thanks for the help.

POP is for receiving email. SMTP is for sending email and every email system supports SMTP.

Jason, I should have listened to you and saved myself a few hours. I contact my mail host and they said it was a plug-in issue. It’s been 2 days and Jetpack hasn’t gotten back to me, so I am overriding the system and I downloaded your plug-in and installed it and now it works!! Thanks for the help!

Well, experience is the name we give our mistakes ??

Glad you got it going!! Please let me know if you have any email issues in the future. I’ve seen most of them.

@dimplefacect, would you kindly mark this is as resolved? it’s helpful to others with the same problem. In your case, installing an SMTP plugin solved your issue.

    Hey Jason.

Jetpack’s Contact Form module doesn’t really need to be configured. It uses WordPress’ wp_mail() function to send out the emails, so as long as that function works the emails will be sent out.

My contact form is putting all of the information collected into ‘Feedback’ but it is not emailing it to me.

    Hi Beth,

If the information ends up in the Feedback menu, it means that the form itself is working. If you don’t receive the emails, it could be because your server is not be configured properly to send emails through the wp_mail function.

Can you try installing the Check Email plugin and sending yourself a test email to see if it works? You can download the plugin here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/check-email/

If you didn’t receive a test email, it means that your server isn’t able to send our emails. You will then need to use a third-party email service to send out the emails. Jason’s plugin allows you to do just that, so it seems you figured it out!

It’s been 2 days and Jetpack hasn’t gotten back to me

I couldn’t find any other recent thread from you in the forums, so maybe you had posted somewhere else?

In the future, if you have questions about Jetpack, do not hesitate to post in the Jetpack support forums for help:

    Hi,
I have the same issue, I can receive the feedback but not the e-mails from Jetpack contact form…
I already test by check-mail plugin and wordpress sent to me a test mail.

I have also tried with other different e-mail addresses > KO
If I try to sent me a message by contact form in the contact page, it works. The other forms creating with Jetpack, they did not.

They work until two weeks ago and I not changed nothing….. what happen?
I must to contact my Hosting support?

    Thank you for your support
