• By buzztone’s post I am making a post of my own, to avoid confusion to the plugin author that my problem is likely to be completely different from others who are having similar issue.

As of this post, I am using CF7 version 3.9.1 and WP 3.9.2.

I have multiple WP sites which use CF7. On or around August 19th, 2014 I have stopped receiving online submits. On one particular site, I am using CF7 as online registration form. It has been acting up around August 14th only delivering those who have not registered with Yahoo or AOL account–I have registers enter their email addresses and I place those emails in the “From:” with tags [your-email] <[your-email]>. Other registrations with Gmail, verizon, msn etc were coming through just fine. Thinking that it is just problems with Yahoo and AOL services, I have replaced “From:” field simply with [your-name]. It worked for that day and until August 19.

This online registration form which was designed with CF7 has been used since 2012. Online form is very simple–gathers name, address, phone number, email address…all text fields. No uploads or attachments during the process.

I am hosted with godaddy and spoke to a technician to look at my hosting server. He tested with a simple PHP mail() function and it was fine. I uploaded my own simple mail() script and I received it fine. So, he ruled out the server side issue. And knowing that my other WP site with CF7 is also not sending/or unable to receive submits from it, I think the problem may be with the plugin and WP 3.9.2?

Please look into it and let me know if there’s something else I can do. I have three other plugins–email encoder (which encrypts all email address on my sites), login lockdown and simple login log. I have disabled them since August 19 to see if any conflict might be an issue–but no, nothing received.

I hope my detailed situation is helpful to you when you are looking for a solution.

    Thank you.

  • RE: only delivering those who have not registered with Yahoo or AOL account

??This is a Yahoo issue. You can read about what MailChimp thinks of Yahoo’s approach at https://blog.mailchimp.com/tag/dmarc/?utm_source=MonkeyWrench+Newsletter&utm_campaign=60cdb6ad9e-MonkeyWrench_May_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_6f9c46a454-60cdb6ad9e-87036826

You can help to ?mitgate the problem by not using the default From: [your-name] <[your-email]>, as this requires that the collected email address is allowed to be used as the sending email on your hosting. You could instead include the collected email address as a mailto: link in the body of the email.

RE: ??I have replaced “From:” field simply with [your-name]

This is likely to create more problems? as many hosts require that the From: email address be a valid email address on the hosted domain.

RE: I think the problem may be with the plugin and WP 3.9.2??

??I disagree. The plugin is working for me on many different websites and several different servers. Any issue you have is almost certainly due to something on your local WP install.

See Contact Form 7 Email Issues. Most people that work through this information appear to be able to resolve their email sending & receiving issues.
