Contact Form only sends some enquiries

If the forms appear in the Feedback section of your site, we know that they’re filtered between your site and your inbox.

If you’ve installed and configured a plugin to stop using your server’s email functions, and use a third-party email provider instead, and if you do receive some of the emails after making that change, we know that the problem didn’t come from your server (that confirms what Site5 told you), and that the filtering happens later in the chain.

That leaves us with one element in the chain: the inbox where the emails land. Your email provider could filter the emails before they land in your inbox. The emails could be landing in your Spam folder for example. If they don’t land there, it means that they’re filtered before they even reach your inbox. Your email provider should be able to help you with that.
An alternative would be to switch to a different email provider, by setting Jetpack’s Contact Form so the emails are sent to a different email address.

Thank you for your super fast reply and attention on this matter.
So just to clarify my email provider is also Site5, so I am indeed using my server’s email function.
I have checked Spam folder and it does not end up there, and sounds like my email provider is indicating that its not being filtered at all. The only plugin I am using is the SMTP plugin which I installed to try fix this problem. Prior to doing this the from address was wordpress.domain.com and now its showing as info@domain.com, but I am still not receiving all emails.
Also am using 42U Jetback Booster.

Try to configure your site to use a different email provider, like Gmail for example. This way we’ll really be able to eliminate Site5 from our investigation.

Try to send the emails somewhere else, using this setting in the Contact Form builder:

Pick an email address that is not hosted on Site5. A GMail or Yahoo address, for example.

Can I send it to both Gmail and current address so that I can show current server that its going to gmail but not to Site5, if indeed that does occur?

Yeah, you could try that. Just separate the email addresses by a comma in the Contact Form builder

So finally got another email that didnt show in my mailbox, but this time had gmail address added in like so [contact-form to='info@........co.za, t.....@gmail.com' subject='Hermanus Whale Watching Enquiry'], and neither email address received the enquiry.

Is the form displayed in the Feedback menu in your dashboard?

If so, and if the email didn’t reach either of your Site5 and Gmail addresses, it’s most likely that it was rejected before it could even be sent. Did you set up Postman or Easy WP SMTP already? If you didn’t, could you give that a try now?

Hi, yes so its in feedback section of dashboard and yes I have already set up Easy WP SMTP, and am receiving test messages from there. Please note that about 70% do reach my mailbox, its just about 30% that dont.

I’m not really familiar with Easy WP SMTP. Does it offer logs about outgoing emails? If so, could you take a look at the logs for the email you didn’t receive?

No it does not but I noticed Postman does.

Anything about that email would be helpful, as we still don’t know where the emails are blocked.

I’ve been getting this same problem with a few sites on site5 and the jetpack contact form.

From what I’ve seen and noticed is that any emails that are submitted in the form from eg, gmail or yahoo etc don’t get forwarded via the form but they do show up in the admin section of WordPress.

A bad work around but not perfect is when setting up the contact form don’t use the email field option but a text option then rename as email.

I think at this point of time it has something to to with Site5 hosting blocking form data with the email field option filled in with a gmail / yahoo address etc.
