contact form submission

    I set up a contact page on my wordpress installation using contact.php. I entered details and hit ‘submit’ expecting to get email but it has been a few hours I didn’t receive anything. what might be the problem? any help will be appreciated. thanks.

    I’m not using any plugin. I just used the contat.php as the template for the page. if that can help. do I have to use a plugin for the contact page? thought it should be pretty straighforward…

    I’m sorry if I sound redundant but in drupal, contact form works out of the box. does it mean that in wordpress the contact form won’t work without the use of a plugin??

    Correct. It is not part of WordPress core.

    thank you now for doing my education. I’ve been focusing on drupal for a while. now I’m getting serious about wordpress. so I’m gonna need some help!!!

    Generally speaking, WP core publishes Pages, Posts & comments. Apart from a few fancy post listing pages (list by tag, by date or by category), pretty much every other bit of pretty functionality needs a plugin. So if in doubt, have a look through https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/
