• So, I’ve spoken to my host and Gsuite team and all suggest this problem is with the plugin. Can you please advise me of a fix for this problem please. My site is https://www.zoeemilie.co.uk

The problem: After writing message on the contact form, the the contact form does not confirm the message has been send it just shows a loading wheel. I also do not receive any messages at my gmail account either.

  • Hi there, I just tried it and immediately got a confirmation on the site, but nothing via email yet – should it send a confirmation to the enquirer (if not, perhaps it should!).

No spinner for me but I see a response from ajax containing the following:

    {confirmation_opt: "text_confirmation",…}
    confirmation_opt
    :
    "text_confirmation"
    success_msg
    :
"<div class="success">Thank you! We will be in touch within 24hrs.</div>"

So from that perspective, it seemed OK.

    Hi Digital Toast!

Yes I got your inquiry, so just tried again myself and no such luck? The inquirer does not receive and email but great idea. Any ideas how i might set that up?

Which web browser are you using? For example, in Chrome, if you press CTRL-SHIFT-I you will get to a console (or however you reach the console in the browser).

Submit the enquiry with the console open, and look for errors there.

If nothing, then repeat it with the “network” tab open, and look for things being sent and received when you click “send email”.

As far as sending confirmation email to the enquirer, that’s done by whatever contact form you are using. In my case, with ContactForm7, it’s done like this: https://contactform7.com/adding-cc-bcc-and-other-mail-headers/

I’m using chrome, inspected the console and got this error? (Way out of my level of skill to understand what this means, unfortunately :/ )

/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?lang=en_US&action=fpt_submit_inquiry Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)

OK, that means it didn’t like something about what you entered. Hang on, let me try with some weird characters like speech marks…

OK – that’s your problem! Your contact form doesn’t seem to like special characters.

For example, in “tell me more”, I put
Here's a sentence with an apostrophe, "speech marks" and exclamation!

and it failed. You either need to update your contact form, check the settings, or get a better one!

That maybe one problem but with my tests I didn’t use any special characters. :/

Problem still exists and this is the second time this has appeared instead of my site. My host has fixed the problem by removing your plugin. Any suggestions?
