    I hope you can help resolve this problem. A registered user of my website is trying to place an ad. However, when she tries to submit, she is getting a message that the contact info email must first be verified and nothing is saved. Moreover, I have not been able to reproduce the issue. If the user is registered and logged in, what could cause this error message?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @tjalexander70,

    Sorry that you ran into issues here!

    I’m guessing you may have turned on a setting that you didn’t want to have on.

    Under Classifieds->Settings->Ad/Listings tab, there’s a setting for:

    “Have non-registered users verify the email address used to post new Ads”

    I’ll bet that’s checked for you–sounds like you may want to uncheck it instead. That only happens with registered users who aren’t the admin.

    Try that and let me know if you run into more issues.

    The user got back to me that she “figured it out” but did not specifically tell me what she figured out. I suspect that she was using an email other than the one she requested with for her ad.

    I’m having this problem only on certain listings. This is on our intranet and all users have the ability to post ads. A couple of employees have recently let me know their ad didn’t post and gave them the message that they have to verify their email. But they never received an email to verify. I assume this is because I do NOT have this boxed checked under Classifieds->Settings->Ad/Listings tab.

    This seems to be a bug. It started on v3.8.5 and I’m on WP v4.9.6
