While looking for something somewhat unrelated to this, I came across an issue with our contact page… it doesn’t contact us. I tried to send a test E-mail through it to my work E-mail address but nothing came through. After digging a little, I see that the contact E-mail was originally set up as an old defunct E-mail address that our former pastor used, but even after updating the E-mail address in the WP Forms builder, adding a new WPForm to the contact page to replace the old one, and refreshing everything (with test E-mails sent between each of those steps to see if any of them worked), it’s still not coming through.
Will updating the E-mail address in a form reflect immediately or is there a cooldown period that I have to wait for before it’ll work? I can’t figure out why it’s not working.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Emails are often generated by WordPress but rejected by the email service provider. It is usually because emails from WordPress are sent unauthenticated. One solution is to use an SMTP plugin like this one: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

Another possibility would be an incomplete configuration of your domain for emails in the DNS. DKIM and SPF records are now considered mandatory by many email service providers. The plugin mentioned above would inform you if this information is missing. You would need to contact your domain host to resolve this.

    Hi @officeatjoychurch and @threadi,

@threadi, thank you for sharing the information.

@officeatjoychurch, to troubleshoot email delivery issues, please make sure your form notification settings are configured correctly by following this tutorial.

Additionally, ensure that the Optimize Email Sending option is not enabled, as described in our guide here.

If your notification settings are correct, the issue is likely because the emails sent from WordPress are not authenticated (unlike emails sent directly from dedicated email service providers). As a result, they are likely to be filtered by the receiving mail server.

To resolve email delivery issues like this, you can configure an SMTP plugin on your site so that emails are sent as authenticated. We have an article with a list of recommended SMTP options and links to their setup tutorials.

I hope this helps! If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out.

    Hi @officeatjoychurch,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
