Container code ON/OFF but still showing

  • Hi,

    We are using the “Container code ON/OFF” set to “OFF” as we are using Complianz cookie banner for Consent Mode V2. We are still keeping GTM4WP for the data layers.

    However, even though we have the setting to “OFF”, GTM4WP is still adding our GTM container according to Google Tag Assistant. So now we have double GTM containers (since complianz adds it as well).

    Any idea why this is happening?

    We have the same issue, however, we took it one step further and completely deactivated, removed, and deleted the plugin, yet the issue remains…

    We’re unclear on how to prevent the 2nd gtm container load (which creates a 2nd ‘gtm.start’ and leads to additional unexpected data issues).

    How can this be resolved?
