• Im looking to run an online competition where visitors to my site can answer a question, and if answered correctly entered into a prize draw.

    i would like need to collect user information as well to contact the winner, ie names, email

    is there a way to do this?

    can anyone point me to a how to and or a plugin?

  • Some choices:
    – go to the wordpress plugins directory and search for “contest”, there are quite a few available
    – use one of the contact form plugins to send you an email when a user enters your contest.
    – get Gravity Forms (costs money) and build your own form
    – if you are a PHP programmer you can code the form up yourself as a plugin or as an extension to your theme, and save the data to a table in the database.

    searched for contest but all same not tested in 3.3.1, also comment contasts… which i dont understand… is there a contest where people enter via a comment on the post, if so then surly that would show the answer to everyone?

    Most plugins tested to 3.0 will work, if you see one that looks good you could message the author and see if it’s tested.

    Note that for moderated comments, only the blog author gets to see the comments until the she approves them.
