content in Right Sidebar appears below body content

I want to reduce the width of the right sidebar in the ‘content/sidebar’ template.
Having done that using this suggested code.

#sidebar
{
	padding: 20px 0 10px 0;
	margin-left: 705px;
	width: 200px;
	}

The width is reduced but …any content, such as calendar, testimonials, etc appear way down the sidebar, below the level of the body content. This is true for all pages, whether there is a lot of body content, or very little.

Any ideas how do I get the sidebar content to appear at the top of the body of the page?
