    Hello Everyone!

Thanks for everyone for reading/Helping with this problem…

So it all started when I was moving away from Godaddy for more freedom in hosting, and a company with better morals… when Moving my website I backed up all ftp, and uploaded to my other host… things show up in the ftp that I can download them, but its just like a default wordpress setup on the site (although some things like plugins are there, just not being used…)

This looks like the same problem I have, but has been solved, without much explanation
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/all-site-content-missing-after-server-change

what should the table prefix be? wp_ is default, and I have it on both hosts like that…

Thanks for any/all help guys! ??
    Justin

PS: if you need the website URL, I can give it to you… but theres nothing to see…

  • You need to transfer the database as well, and that’s not something that can be done using FTP. The normal way to do it is to log into the hosting control panel (for the hosting server, not your WordPress admin area) and use phpMyAdmin to export the database to a .sql file. Then you log into the new hosting control panel and import the .sql file into a new database there. Have a look here for more info.

You will probably need to update the database connection details (database name, username and password) in your sites wp-config.php file to connect to the new database.

Ok thanks catacaustic, that answered my question…

although I don’t have access anymore to the sql file… so Time to rebuild it I guess…

    Thanks for the help!
