The site I am working on, https://payments-207.com/ no longer displays content – only the header, main menu, and the background, plus the social icons from the Brankic Social Media Widget plugin I installed. I deactivated all the plugins, but that didn’t work. I also reinstalled the ZigZag theme, but again nothing changed. I even completely deleted and restored a backup of the site through an FTP client.

Everything is still there on the WordPress admin side, but it’s just not displaying on the live site. Seems like there might be an easy fix for this?

The other day I cleaned out a ton of spam comments, and I think the issues started then. I can’t imagine why deleting comments would have that effect, though. Thanks.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap. As you have such an old version of WordPress, you will need to carry out a series of smaller manual upgrades. See Upgrading_WordPress_Extended for the full details.

Hello esmi – thanks for your response. The theme author, Brankic1979, informed me that I simply needed to have a post logged for all the content to show up (not sure why – is this common across WP?). I had deleted them all in my attempt to clear out the spam.

As for the older version of WordPress, the ZigZag theme is not updated and there are multiple display issues with the newer versions. I am strongly recommending to my client that he change themes and upgrade WP. I agree it is not optimal.

    Thanks for your response.

I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.
