On first submit of post from front-end, everything but the “Content” is processed, it stays blank.

If you press “Continue Editing” straight after submit the content is there, and pressing submit again from here the content gets processed as it should.

I have updated to the latest version.

Just an update, it appears when you “Edit” also it only saves when you click “Continue Editing” and submit from there.

I also noticed it does not do the “checks” inside the content for max number of links on first submit or edit. Only in the “Continue Editing” part are the checks done.

After more testing I have worked out the problem. If you have the minimum content words set to 0 the problem happens, it has to be set at 1.

So now there is a bug where you press the submit button on a new post, it comes up with an error saying

Your submission has errors. Please try again!
You missed one or more required fields

But if you press again it goes through fine.

Hi. I am looking into the issue. If I can reproduce it, I’ll release a fix for this.

I have done some testing and I am unable to reproduce the problem on my system.

Exactly which version are you using? On 2.3.5:

    – If the content doesn’t have enough words the form shows error on first submission.
    – If the content has enough words the form saves content correctly on first submission.
    – If the word count is set to 0 validation gets disabled like it should.
