Content not showing in pages unless I highlight the page. Can’t edit pages

Looks like there’s a problem with how the theme is loading styles and scripts, as I’m seeing the following warning on the link you shared above: Notice: wp_enqueue_style was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts, or login_enqueue_scripts hooks. This notice was triggered by the cp-shortcode handle. Sorry, seeing those warnings I assumed you were developing a custom theme. I’m afraid those issues won’t be fixed by pasting a code snippet somewhere; you might have to contact the theme developer so they can fix it on their side. There’s a few things we can try in the meantime, but I’ll need a bit more info to know what to recommend.

When did these problems start? E.g. was it after updating WordPress, or installing a new plugin? Which version of WordPress are you running? (You can see the version number on the bottom right hand corner of your dashboard.)

One thing you can try straightaway is to disable any recently added plugins, and see if that fixes the issue.

To be honest my website was down for awhile for some unknown reason. Support team had to reset something on their end but not sure what they did. After they reset everything then I got a different error but they said it was not they would be able to do because it was a developer problem. So, I started during some research and was able to bring my website back up, along with some other issues I had. I thought I needed to update WP, so it was updated to 5.7. I also, installed some plugins to get some of my pages back on the website. I have been toying with it for over a week. I also, disable all of the plug-ins one at time, but I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place, if you know what I mean. I really appreciate you trying to help me resolve this issue.

No worries, hopefully we can sort this out! Looking at your website again, I can’t see the warnings any more; probably one of the plugins you disabled was causing the issue. Is it ok on your side now? If the disabled plugin had important functionality maybe we can try to find a replacement.

Probably, the reason you not seeing the message any more because I disable some plugins and in the wp_config I changed it to false. I’m still not able to see my contents in my pages nor am I able to do any editing.

I see. Can you try disabling all your plugins, and let me know if that fixes the issue with page contents and editing? If it does, then try re-enabling the plugins one by one until you see the issue occurring again. Then we’ll know which plugin is the cause.

If the issue is still happening after disabling all plugins, try switching from your custom theme to one of the default themes, such as Twenty Twenty One, and once again check if that fixes it.

Can I copy my custom theme over to the 2020 theme, if so, how do I go about doing ii?

I’m not sure what you mean by copy in this case. Theme files can’t be copied from one theme to another as they have theme-specific logic. Some customizations such as widgets carry across when changing themes, and any menus you created will be preserved (though you might need to re-add them to a location in the new theme) but if the theme has any special functionality such as custom post types, that won’t work with the new theme.

What I was suggesting was just temporarily switching to another theme to see if the issue disappears. If it does, we’ll know the problem is with the theme, and you should contact the theme developer so they can fix it. If not, we’ll have to keep looking for the cause. Either way, as soon as we’ve checked that, you can switch back to your custom theme again.

I did switched the theme 2021 and the pages for that theme did work. Where and how do I contact the developer for my theme to have it corrected?

Your theme seems to be custom built, so the best bet is to contact the person who set up the website; if they didn’t build it, they should be able to tell you where they got it from.

It was so long ago and I really don’t remember who built this website for me.
