    I just want some confirmation that the only thing that should be in the wp-content directory are the directories plug-ins, themes, and the index.php file.

    My live site seems to have additional files and I am not sure if these are a remnant of a previous version, something that I did by mistake when uploaded changes, or what.

    Thanks,
    Phil

    There can be other things in wp-content. Not much though, it’s usually pretty empty.

    What do you have that you don’t know about?

    There are a bunch of kubrick*.jpg files, and a bunch that look like they are from a theme and perhaps a plug-in thrown in. Like 404.php, akismet.php, comments.php, header.php, hello.php, functions.php, footer.php, etc. That is not all of them, not in any order.

    Sounds like you copied the entire contents of a theme there by mistake. Might want to delete those.

    wp-content normally contain an index.php file, with only this content:

    <?php
    // Silence is golden.
    ?>

    This is just to prevent people from viewing the content of the directory. You could use a blank index.php file or probably even index.htm or index.html file instead.

    That was what I thought was happening, just wanted some confirmation.

    Thanks.
