• I have seen many topics regarding this error message:

Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.

& have tried deactivating all my plugins & all the other various suggestions that have been made but nothing has stopped me receiving this error message. There is no problem with my connection either or from my website host. It appears every time in my WordPress Dashboard when I am either drafting or editing a post. It has only started occurring however since we upgraded to WordPress 3.6 & then 3.6.1.

Is there any known fix to this problem or is it simply a case of waiting for the next WordPress update to be released? I would appreciate any assistance that anyone can offer as I am out of ideas to try & fix this problem.

    Thanks so much in advance.

  • I am unable to save any work on a post. I am using wordpress 3.6.1 with all plugins disabled.
I click update and get The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. error log:

AH00124: Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace., referer https://jerusalemcats.com/

I would suggest to make sure again that your internet connection and server settings are correct (though you say that they are OK). If that’s not the case, try manually upgrading WordPress from a freshly downloaded copy of the latest.zip file of 3.6.1. Delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders on your server before uploading new files and folders – do NOT overwrite them.

Backup your site first so that you can restore if anything goes wrong.

So to be sure that I understand…if I’ve read this thread (one of many that I found when I searched for info on this error), and I want to express that I too, am having this trouble, I need to start a new thread? I should not communicate with other wp users about this? Each an every thread I’ve read is a display of the same basic formula. OP says, “I’ve got a problem with connection being lost.” Responders say “me too,” and moderators tell responders to start their own thread. I’m missing the logic.

These are the forum guidelines. As you will see, one of the guidelines – entitled Where to Post – states:

Unless you are using the same version of WordPress on the same physical server hosted by the same hosts with the same plugins, theme & configurations as the original poster, do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic.

In general this guideline tries to give back focus to solving the question of the original poster.

From experience topics are easily derailed and hard to resolve if the (seemingly) same problems need different approaches (for the “me too” posts).

By starting a new topic you also have a better chance to get it noticed as most volunteers try to answer questions without replies first.
