• There are a few topics going on regarding the post box size issues in 3.5; some of them are marked resolved – which I guess was true for the original poster – but not the others who added on their voices about the problem. @kmessinger’s request I am opening a new thread so the issue can be tracked.

    1. The problem is the post box is stuck on HUGE.
    2. Once the post box is huge, the square in the lower right hand corner does not work.
    3. The problem started when I used that square to make the post box slightly larger. The size jumped to gargantuan at the next save.
    4. The problem IS NOT BROWSER DEPENDENT I have tested it on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. It is stuck.
    5. The problem IS USER DEPENDENT. I made a new user set to administrator. When I log in as that user the post box is normal size.

If you are having similar problems, please add your details below.

    Huh. That’s weird.

Once the post box is huge, the square in the lower right hand corner does not work.

    That’s weirder.

Are you on visual or HTML editor?

It doesn’t matter. Once the box gets huge it is stuck. Visual and HTML.

    The problem IS USER DEPENDENT.

Worse yet, it remains stuck on huge from then on. I can log out. I can log back in. No difference. Every single post – old or new – is huge. The resizing just stops working.

It is bad enough that I am considering closing down that admin account – which is no small deal since it is my main one AND all my comments as owner are tied to it. I would prefer to have a fix instead!

Is this problem addressed in 3.5.1?

I am having the exact same problem. It occurred the same way that IslandOwl describes. Very, very annoying. I hope this gets fixed soon!

@ericaaitken and @thedentalwarrior, that doesn’t help the original poster’s issue. If you’re hinting you need support, please create your own threads on the issue.

That is ridiculous and incorrect Andrew!

It is not helpful to have four zillion support threads on the very same unsolved topic! This problem is a bug and it is helpful for the WP team to see that a lot of people are having the same issue. There are already multiple threads about this issue. There are no more needed unless someone has something different happening.

The point about creating separate threads is to keep the topics clean. It is to prevent thread creep. Thread creep happens when someone joins in and starts asking questions that are not exactly in line with the original post.

All the posts on this thread (with the exception of yours) are in keeping with the original poster’s post!!

I really don’t want to drive this thread off-topic, if you want to continue discussions on this, please use the miscellaneous forum.

It seems to me that wordpress moderators love to close discussions. Powerful people telling lesser people they can’t talk. I just do not understand how this fosters the kind of sharing community I thought wordpress was.

I’m totally with IslandOwl on this. The borked 3.5 edit window size is a real problem. No, of course it isn’t a problem compared to world hunger, I get that, but if you spend your day working in wordpress, then being afraid to even hit “save draft” because you know it’s going to send your window out to 1500 lines AGAIN and you’ll have to click and drag, drag, drag, all over again is a real disincentive to work and save.

I think IslandOwl has it right, a lot of users frustrated by the same snafu on 3.5 should post in one place. Fragmenting this user issue into lots of tiny threads just seems to take away any voice or power the user community had.

@xue Faith: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

I would also strongly recommend that you review this section of the forum rules before posting again.
