Continuous Spam

  • Hi,

    I hope someone can help me.

    I was getting tons of spam comments, so I went into the blog, deleted all the subscribers & thought that would be the end of it, but it’s not. I’m still getting spam comments from users I deleted. How can that be???

    You might want to check your:

    settings >> discussion and check/uncheck the appropriate boxes. See the picture:

    The Red boxed section is the one that you should ensure that “An administrator must always approve the comment” Put a check mark next to it so that nothing will appear until you have approved them.

    Go thru the items one by one and see if they are appropriate for you.

    Hi,

    Yes I am using Akismet & it’s finding the spam, but that’s not my question. How can a user I’ve deleted still write spam comments if they have been deleted.

    mytaxsite – I’ve have that box checked off already. Again, the spam comments aren’t visible, but I don’t want to have to delete them every day if I’ve already deleted the user who’s writing them. It makes no sense unless there’s some bug that allows people to continue to spam long after they’ve been deleted from the blog.
