Contributor and Authors comments pending

  • Am experiencing an infuriating issue.

    The site has a large comment database (over 100k) and a number of contributors and authors. I have also tried many different anti spam methods and plugins over the years but despite this, the same problem persists.

    On a regular basis, a certain number of authors and contributors comments (those on their own and others posts) always get tagged as ‘pending’

    The Comment Moderation settings are 5 links and the moderation box contains no entries.

    I have a number of blacklist items listed, words and IP addresses and currently even have a whitelist plugin, but that seems to make no difference.

    So it is the consistent flagging for moderation of perfectly valid comments from authors and contributors that is the problem

    Anyone have any ideas, tried all the usual routes but nothing found
