• Hello everyone,

I hired a Virtual Assistant to help me post articles on my blog(just to post them, not to write them). My main concern is that I don’t want this person to be able to edit already existing posts. Should I create a Contributor account for him?

  • If you intend this person to create new posts, you might be better off using the Author role. Otherwise, you will have to review and publish all posts yourself.

I would like to give this person fewer capabilities so as to minimize the risk of him doing something accidentally or intentionally. I gave him a Contributor user but he can’t upload the pictures so I gave him back the Editor user.

Is there a way for him to be able to upload the pictures without being able to manage posts written by other users?

    Thank you!

Not within WordPress by default but you could look at some of the role management plugins – such as https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/ – to see if they can give you the fine-grained control that you need.
