Control Group Selection/Removal depending on Subscription Status
-
This is more of a general question.
I have two courses (Level 1 and Level 2) – and these courses have payment plans that last 3 months. So you can buy them either full price or in a 3 part subscription. Normally with Groups, when you buy a subscription (woocommerce) and are placed in the group, you are in that group unless your subscription is cancelled, on hold, or trashed. In which case you are removed from the group. If you complete your subscription, it is my understanding you stay in the group indefinitely until you are manually removed. Is this correct? Is there a way to control what happens when a user finishes paying their subscription? I’d ideally like to create a “Payment Plan” group for the Level 1 group, that allows them to buy Level 2 but not have access to it until they’ve completed paying for Level 1 (even if they’ve finished the course itself). The only way in theory I can think to do that is to create this additional payment plan group that places users in it until they complete their payment plan – finally unlocking their next Level course by removing that group. The caveat though is that I need the opposite behavior for Level 2, as users who complete that course and finish paying get lifetime access. So some groups need to stay after final payment, while one needs to be removed allowing access to the next phase.
If someone could let me know if this is a possibility or if there’s a workaround for what I’d like to do! That would be amazing – thank you!
