Hi, thank you for the positive feedback.

That is a good question, and it is something that has been on my TODO list for a while.

The Woo Themes themes, by default, only support three weights (300, 400, 700) and their various styles (normal, bold, italic). Both the standard Woo themes and my plugin will load up all the available weights, so that can be a bit wasteful of bandwidth if you are only using the three weights that the theme provides.

I’ll take a look at this soon, as it is about time I did some updates, since we are approaching another thousand round number of downloads, and it’s nice to celebrate ??

So the idea would be that in the admin page, you can select which weights are downloaded. It will default to 300+400+700, but you can select additional if you want. The weights would apply to all downloaded fonts, and would not be different for different fonts. That would be nice, but I suspect a bit of an edge-case use weighed up against the effort it would involve. But we never know where this thing may be heading.

What the hell – let’s just do it. Here is a beta of 1.4.1 if you would like to give it a try:

    https://github.com/academe/google-webfonts-for-woo-framework/blob/master/releases/google-fonts-for-woo-framework-1.4.1.zip?raw=true

It will filter out all weights except 300, 400 and 700 by default. You can select additional weights, or even unselect regular (400) if you want to be a bit funky.

Let me know hot it goes. If it does not work properly, you can uninstall it and reinstall the official latest version from wp.org without losing any settings.

If you look at the page source, it will list all the weights it is filtering for. Any fonts that don’t have any of the selected weights in their repertoire, will be removed from the page and not loaded at all.

Hi Jason. This is fantastic! What an amazing response time and offering up a solution is more than I anticipated. Everything is working perfectly as far as I can tell. Thank you so much!

Cool, glad it works. I’m going to try it out on a few more of my sites, then release it at the weekend as an official update.
