• I’m designing a basic website for my friend with just a few pages and it was very easy to set up in WordPress. However, she’s not at all technical so the cms needs to be very easy for her.

I just want her to be able to edit the text on each page such as biography, resume etc. However, all the pages contain html, divs, tables, images etc.

How can I make it so she is just presented with a text box to enter/update content such as her biography, and the html is stored elsewhere?

    Thanks

  • WordPress is script and using the editor in admin for post and pages, is like using word no need to learn any html you will need to teach her how to use the editor.

Sure – but for example on the biography page, there is html that includes a photo and some other stuff.

So when she goes to edit her biography instead of editing just the biography text like on a normal cms, all the html is mixed in with it.

Am I doing this wrong? Should I be putting all my html into a unique template for each page?

No if she adds on visual mode than there is no html involved all she need to is type like on word and publish or update, the script will take care of html.

But I don’t her to see images, links, tables even in visual mode.

I want to create an editor for specific content areas on a page i.e. just the text.
