Hi I want to control which image facebook uses when my link is posted. According to facebook support, I have to enter the following into the <header> tag of my webpage:

    <link rel=”image_src” href=”https://adelynmakes.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/logo3square.jpg&#8221; / ><!–formatted–>

(The reference to my image is what I have included.)

I thought I was doing the right thing by going into Editor and putting it into the header.php But obviously this isn’t working because after doing what facebook calls a scrape, it is still displaying a random picture from my website.

But I am only guessing. Can someone help me please? Thanks.

    Hi adelynmakes

I guess you are talking about the title, description & image that Facebook & Twitter automatically extract from your post whenever you share something. If that’s the case, follow these steps to customize it:

    1. Install and activate Yoast SEO

    2. Go to Dashboard -> Pages and select the page

    3. Scroll down to bottom, you’ll see a box titled Yoast SEO.

    4. Click on “Social” tab & fill in what you want to display in each of the social media site.

    View post on imgur.com

    5. Click on “Update”

    Thanks

    Hi all

Thanks for the help. Layerthemes, I don’t get those tabs in Yoast SEO like you showed in your picture. I wonder why? Do I have to do this for each and every page and post?

This problem only occurs when I just put my top URL as a link. It just grabs a photo from a post when it use to grab my logo. I want Facebook to do that again.

Found the Social tab. In the current Yoast SEO, it is along the left hand side and is represented by the share icon. I’ve resolved the problem. THANKS so much for your help, layerthemes! Always great support.
