My conversion events are triggering properly in Google Analytics, but aren’t showing up in Google Ads

    GA4:

Google Ads says no recent conversions:

I used Site Kit and GTM. In Google Ads I used?Import?to bring the GA4 conversions into Google Ads, so in theory it should be working, but I set this up 4 days ago and it shouldn’t be taking this long to show up in Google Ads.?

I did test conversions during setup so there have been many conversions in the past 7 days.

    Thanks!

Hi @antibalashifi we are limited to support for Site Kit and the modules it allows you to connect. Site Kit currently doesn’t support Google Ads so you cannot connect this service through the plugin.

If you are having issues with your Google Ads conversions then I would recommend checking the Google Ads Help Center. If you do have any questions or issues on Site Kit then please let us know and we will be happy to help.

    Hi Adam,

Are you saying that I can’t use Site Kit if I want to track ad conversions?

@antibalashifi You certainly can use Site kit if you want to track ad conversions but you cannot track this data from the Site Kit plugin and it is not currently a connectable module within the plugin.

You can get Site Kit to place your Ads conversion ID if you have the Analytics module connected in Site Kit. You can do this by going to Settings > Connected Services > Analytics > Edit > Google Ads and place your conversion ID in the box. Could you confirm if you have done this?

Using this setting simply makes Site Kit place the Ads conversion ID snippet on your site. Any issues you face with ads conversions or your data falls out of the scope of the Site Kit plugin support and as mentioned above will need to addressed by the team at the Google Ads Help Center.

I 100% did this, however I don’t see it right now, and I don’t see the option to add it based on your instructions either. The code I entered began with AW-.

Did Site Tag remove it because I connected Tag Manager?

Or maybe it removed the Ads conversion ID because I’m using GA4? (Probably not) @adamdunnage

Also am I getting full analytics/data on my GA4 when using Site Kit, or is it restricted in any way? I’m on an eCommerce site and read some previous thread about certain features not being supported in Site Kit.

    Thanks!

Okay so it seems that it’s setup correctly, so my other question remains… am I getting the best data possible with Site Kit? Thanks!

@antibalashifi Glad to hear that this is now set up correctly for you. With regards to your question on ANalytics/GA4, you can absolutely use Site Kit to place your GA4 snippet on your site.

At present, Site Kit only supports the display of UA(Universal Analytics) data and not yet GA4 within it’s dashboards. You can find out more information on this in our Using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) guide.

Here you will also find our GitHub issue for further GA4 work so please feel free to follow this for future updates on GA4 within Site Kit.

You can quickly jump to your Analytics account from the Site Kit dashboard by clicking on the?Source: Analytics?quick link which will take you to your account where you will be able to view your GA4 data.

This is why the data in your Site Kit dashboard is only showing the UA data currently. You can add a UA code to the site and link this to your GA4. You can do this with the GA4 setup assistant.

We are making good progress on the GA4 reporting with the sunsetting of UA Analytics properties coming up so please keep an eye on this as we look to roll this out as soon as we can. This will not stop the data being tracked.

Hope this helps to answer your question but let me know if I can help with anything else.

Okay, I have GA4 setup with Site Kit…. so it’s collecting all the best data (including Enhanced eCommerce etc) but I just have to view it on the website and not in my dashboard?

@antibalashifi That’s correct. We will be rolling out GA4 reporting in Site Kit as soon as we can but in the meantime that is how you can view your data.

Ok. My question was really, are there any additional settings like “Enhanced eCommerce” etc I need to worry about?

I’m using WooCommerce, which I understand makes it a little easier.

    @antibalashifi

The plugin doesn’t include WooCommerce specific functionality. You could implement your own event tracking using Tag Manager if you wish, with some details added to the plugin website.

You can also use Site Kit if you have Analytics inserted on your site via other means, such as a WooCommerce specific plugin that tracks all related events. Site Kit can use a third party placed Analytics snippet to show you data within the Site Kit dashboard.

Hope this helps to answer your question.
