Hi there.. Just need some advise please.

I ONLY want this to convert png to jpg in certain directories and have set it up like below:

    Folders to optimize:
    /home/shop4more/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2020/08

    Folders to ignore:
    /home/shop4more/public_html/wp-content/uploads
    /home/shop4more/public_html/wp-content/
    /home/shop4more/public_html/

    —-
    1. Will this work or will putting them in ignore stop the 20202/08 working?

    2. I have chosen png to JPG and delete optimised files… Do I need to do anything or will it automatically start doing this? If so when.. i.e. once per day?

    3. most important I don’t want it to optimize any other files ever except for these upload directories… Are there any settings I must change to make sure only these get optimized?

    Many thanks,
    Anthony

Also with the above I have 9998 png files inside thhe url:
    /home/shop4more/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2020/08

I have tried removing all of the folders to ignore but when I goto bulk optimize it only find 80-100 images! Why is this?

    Many thanks

The folders are recursive, so if you tell it to ignore /home/shop4more/public_html/
you’ve basically told it to ignore your entire site!

You need to make it a little more specific, like so:
    /home/shop4more/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2019/
    /home/shop4more/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2018/
    /home/shop4more/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2017/

And then of course add rules for the month folders in 2020.

OR, you can just go to the media library and select the images that you specifically want to optimize.
Might have to go in several batches, but you can use the List mode in the media library to bulk-select and optimize entire pages of images that way. You can also increase the number of images displayed to around 100 or 150 (depending on how your server copes with listing that many images, mine usually maxes out at 200 or so).
