Convert currency to use Paypal payment gateway

    Hello guys,

    My shop page has its shop base in Australia configured in WordPress. It has been designed to show proper currency based on the country selected on the checkout page and it is supported by Pricing Based On Country plugin. For example: The shop base currency is set to Australia dollar. I choose Japan as the country where I am going to send my product to. So Japan currency will appear instead of Australia dollar on my billing detail.

    I would like to make PayPal as my payment method but it requires the charge would be in US currency. It is getting conflicted with current business model of “Pricing Based On Country”. I found a couple of plugins that converts the currencies not supported by Paypal to a supported currency.

    However both plugins only support to convert source currency (This is the WooCommerce shop base currency), not the currency from the country where I make a purchase.

    Is there any way I can make an order to Russia by Paypal in case my shop base is from Australia?

    Indeed the plugin you’re using to convert the currency might not be compatible with PayPal but I’d suggest reaching out to the support team of the currency converter plugin in order to confirm.

    You could use a plugin that doesn’t actually change the currency but only re-calculates and changes the currency displayed on the front end, such as WooCommerce Currency Converter Widget:
