    Hi,

Google website speedtest suggested your plugin.
Consider using the Performance Lab plugin to automatically convert your uploaded JPEG images into WebP, wherever supported.

But its not totally clear if it also converts my images that are already in the upload media folder?

And are there any plans to support .avif conventions too? That would be nice, as I cant find a plugin that do both, and convert them on your own server.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi @memt-network,

Thanks for reaching out. Great question regarding pre-existing images. The plugin will only generate WebP images for images uploaded after activating the plugin, not for images that already exist on your site. Luckily there are third party plugins that you can use to bulk process existing images.

If you don’t have a lot of images to convert, you can also revisit your older content and replace the images with a WebP version.

And are there any plans to support .avif conventions too? That would be nice, as I cant find a plugin that do both, and convert them on your own server.

Another great question! There is an open GitHub issue on this, on the Performance Lab repository.
    https://github.com/WordPress/performance/issues/11

Feel free to subscribe to that for updates. This is also dependent on WordPress core supporting for the AVIF image format.

Let me know if you have any further questions with the above.
