    What do you mean?
    Pods is meant to register CPT’s. If you use your own code you can only extend with Pods.
    If you want to create the CPT with Pods then please remove your own registration code.

    Yeah, I have a CPT registered with code and I was wondering if there was someway to convert that into a CPT registered with Pods? Not just extend.

    Definitely! Just remove the PHP code and let Pods handle registering.
    You can migrate the CPT settings through the Pods UI once you remove the PHP code.
