• Hi,

I’m currently using the “All In One Schema.org Rich Snippets” plugin for rich snippets but want to install this plugin for the extra recipe information to be displayed.

If I uninstall “All In One Schema.org Rich Snippets” plugin and install yours will I lose all of my user reviews?

Also is it possible to modify certain things such as not displaying the square image within the recipe box and setting the recipe box to the displayed at the bottom of a post?

    Thanks,
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie,

Where are your user reviews coming from exactly? Our plugin can’t handle the metadata for them, so if the “All In One Schema.org Rich Snippets” plugin is doing that for you, you’ll have to keep that one activated.

The recipe box can be displayed wherever you want with the [recipe] shortcode inside a recipe post.
The image can easily be removed in the Template Editor, although I recommend keeping it for the metadata.

    Kind regards,
    Brecht

    Hi Brecht,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The user reviews are coming from the “All In One Schema.org Rich Snippets” plugin yes. If I leave the plugin activated I will have two sets of recipe schema on my posts though so I don’t want that as it will confuse bots reading the schema data.

I think the “All In One Schema.org Rich Snippets” plugin might be using the wrong schema code though as when I run the page through the Structured Data Testing Tool by Google it says “The property Recipe/review is not recognised by Google for an object of type Recipe.”

So I guess I’d have no choice but to to uninstall that plugin, lose all my reviews and start from fresh with yours?

Couldn’t you just not use the Rich Snippets plugin for recipes and only use it for those reviews? Or am I missing something?

Technically I could remove all of the recipe details from the Rich Snippets plugin and just leave the review snippets enabled and then disable the reviews in the WP Ultimate Recipe.

One of the reasons I wanted to switch to your plugin though is because the Rich Snippets plugin I am using currently the reviews schema shows errors in the Google testing tool https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/

“The property Recipe/review is not recognised by Google for an object of type Recipe.”

“Failed to normalise the rating value.”

“A value for the name (fn) field is required.”

I think I’m just going to have to lose my reviews if there is no way to import them :/

We don’t do reviews at the moment, only star ratings, so I’m afraid it’s not possible to import them.

Yes I think recipes is only meant to use star ratings, not reviews which is why the errors are there.

I might test it on a couple of posts to make sure it doesn’t effect traffic too much.

    Thanks
