Converting static website to WordPress
-
Hi
I have been using WordPress to publish my blog on my website for quite some time now. Needless to say, it’s amazing beyond words.
Now I wish to convert my static website https://www.vijaypadiyar.in to WordPress.
I want to move my entire website to a single WordPress installation, while maintaining the existing folder structure. Currently I have the following subfolders:
/projects/
/seminars/
/personal/
/contact/
/links/
/sitemap/I would like to retain these subfolders and the pages in them at the same locations, i.e. no loss of traffic/SEO due to change in location.
I would like to know how I can add “folders” or subdomains in WordPress, and be able to add pages to any of those subfolders. Of course, the folders need not be physical folders as they are now, as long as the URL remains the same (e.g. https://www.vijaypadiyar.in/personal/index.html).
Please let me know how I can do this. Any good tutorials or guides would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
