The cookie banner shows up again every time when I go to my website through the admin dashboard independent from clicking there on accepting functional cookies, all cookies or not accepting them. When I actually accept all cookies, return to the admin dashboard and then from there again to the website, the banner appears again as well.

It seems the cookie acceptance does not hold when accessing the website through the admin dashboard. This is quite frustrating when e.g. writing a post or update some text and clicking from this post/text to the website and vice versa to check how it looks.

In addition, every time I clicked to my website through the admin dashboard and accepted the cookies, afterwards the cookie banner appears again when accessing my website as regular visitor (outside the admin dashboard). So, I assume that clicking to my website through the dashboard and accepting cookies there, this overwrites/deletes all cookie acceptance given as regular visitor.

These difficulties have come up both with the Firefox and Chrome browser.

Any thought and help is much appreciated.

    Hi @hmek687,

The banner should not appear on your admin page. Are you using any redirects or a plugin that affects your login page?

    Dear Aert,

the banner does not appear on the admin page as such but when I click from there to my website using the button in the upper left hand corner of the admin page. Every time I go there the bannner shows up again.

I have deactivated the WP 404 Auto Redirect and also a special layout of the login page from my IT provider but the problem stays the same.

    Hi @hmek687,

I can’t remember this ever being an issue. Could you try logging in with an incognito window and do the following? (for Chrome)

    1. Accept the cookie banner
    2. Go to your dashboard
    3. Click on the lock in your address bar and find the cookie complianz_consent_status
    4. Remember the expiry date.
    5. Visit your website as you would normally do.
    6. Have a look at the cookie again, the expiry date should be the same and should be in the future. The default will be 365 days, as can be configured under Complianz – Settings.

    Let me know,

    Dear Leon,

I actually executed the steps described by Aert and found the following:

    1. When I visit my website as a regular user and click on “accept”, the expiry date of this cookie is 365 days (tomorrow in one year).

    2. When I then go to my dashboard, log off again and visit my website again, the cookie is deleted (at least I can not see it anymore).

    3. Or when I go to my dashboard, from there with the upper left-hand button to my website and click on “accept”, the expiry date is yesterday (creation date – 1 day) !

    Any guidance is much appreciated.

    Hi @hmek687,

An update should clear this issue. This will be in the next few days.

Please start a new thread when you have a follow-up or new question,
