• Hi,

Since your second last Plugin updates we occur issues with the banner.

    Background:

We are using Swift Performance light for caching and speed performance.
Since your last updates cookie banner is not shown on first visit anymore when uc.js script is included in the merging and caching process.

To ensure our compliance we needed to exclude above script which causes issues of

    – leverage browser caching
    – parsing
    – speed performance

Please find maybe helpful information below:

    leverage browser caching:

    further:
[Violation] Added non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking ‘wheel’ event. Consider marking event handler as ‘passive’ to make the page more responsive. See https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5745543795965952
    CookieControl.Dialog.displaydialog @ consent.cookiebot.co…kiebot&framework=:1
    CookieControl.Dialog.show @ consent.cookiebot.co…kiebot&framework=:1
    CookieControl.Dialog.init @ consent.cookiebot.co…kiebot&framework=:1
    (anonymous) @ consent.cookiebot.co…iebot&framework=:53

Kindly ask you to check urgently and advise how to solve.

    Thanks and regards

    Claudia

    Hi Claudia,

The Cookiebot script is implemented twice, once on line 2 (by the plugin) and again on line 42(manually added perhaps?. This second occurrence can (and should) be removed.

The caching times have been reduced in the past, to ensure changes and fixes become available to users as soon as possible.
Although this can lead to slightly slower loading times on return visits, this does ensure that the Cookiebot script works as intended.
Furthermore, both uc.js and cc.js are relatively small (14.2 kb and 28.4 kb respectively), caching these scripts wouldn’t offer such an advantage to justify caching to scripts for an extended period.

The non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking “wheel” event is used when you choose the overlay type banner, this applies an overlay and disables scrolling, to “force” the user to interact with the banner, instead of simply ignore it.
