Hi there, thank you for reaching out to the Paid Memberships Pro team.

PMPro sets a cookie called “pmpro_visit”. Why is this necessary? Unless it is technically necessary to explain: How can I make this dependent on consent? I use “Real Cookie Banner” as consent management and, if necessary, build the blockers and services myself. But to do this you usually need some information about the cookie, possibly scripts, iframes, etc. More than you can see in the browser tools themselves. The first attempts to prevent the unsolicited setting of “pmpro_visit” unfortunately failed.

This cookie is used to track visits that are reported under Memberships > Reports.

You can completely disable this cookie with the following code recipe: https://gist.github.com/JarrydLong/c20f77a4d41237fab49c8b96b9197b7e

Thanks, that worked great! The reports will no longer be correct, but it’s better than setting a cookie, which I don’t yet know how to block until I agree. But I will continue to experiment here and if I find an elegant consent management method, I will post it here.

I’m glad to hear this has helped. Feel free to reach out if there’s anything else we can assist with.

    Kind Regards,
