• I updated my website today to WordPress 5.9.0 and Complianz V6. I decided to empty the cookie list in the Complianz wizard to start with a clean sheet, but after a long scan zero cookies were found. I don’t believe there are zero cookies found. At least WordPress’ own cookies should be found.

I delete website- and cookiedata in Firefox and also tried an icognito window. The latter one has the disadvantage that you still need to pass a few pages before you can login and thus some pages already got buffered.
At any try I can see at the webdeveloper tools that much pages are loaded from buffer. So far I haven’t found a way to force to reload them instead of serving out of the buffer.

On the non-public testversion of the website all worked fine.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hmmm… Now tried it on another laptop (the same that succeeded with scan on the testversion of the same website) and now it found 60 cookies. But again the wizard doesn’t display the unknown ones.

At the cookie policy page it also doesn’t list the WordPress, Complianz and “Others” cookies at chapter 6 (placed cookies).

    Hallo @joennuh,

Concerning the Cookie Policy not being able to load/display certain sections (such as Manage Consent): there is a 401 (Unauthorized) on the request to the REST API, likely because of another plugin/setting enforcing an additional authentication step.

Additionally, is it possible that one of the browsers has any strict privacy settings or ad-blocking extensions enabled? Please also see https://complianz.io/cookie-scan-results/ for our recommendations, and further details about the scan.

Let me know if you have any further updates.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos,

Thanks for the reply. You give me a good clue about a possible cause. At the first scans on the test version of the website I believe I didn’t had the plugin “Disable REST API” installed and now I have. I will try again later when I have time. I will temporarily enable the REST API at that moment.

So does Complianz uses the REST API or so to determine the cookies?

@joennuh Complianz does not actually use the REST API for the cookie scan, but it does use it to load the banner, so it’s an essential feature for Complianz.

We see this issue on some websites, but haven’t been able to reproduce yet. In once case, a caching plugin was causing an issue. We’re still investigating the issue. If you have any new info, let me know!

What php version are you using? This may be related.
