Cookie scan gives longer list than debuggers of browsers

    When I do a (re)scan of my website I got a longer list of cookies than debuggers reports at the frontend. I think de plugin scans the backend/wp-admin? or add’s other findings as cookies?

    I use the Enfold theme, never saw Enfold related cookies but this plugin show at least two.

    To be sure I used also other cookie managers but their lists are the same as the browsers like Chrome and Firefox.

    Hi @alfadelta,

    These could be administrator cookies, can you give me an example of one – I will have a look on cookiedatabase.org to see if I can update them.

    Some might be non-admin as well, even if they are used by your theme.

    Somehow after I deleted earlier the Enfold as a used service it is not appearing anymore in a new list.

    Google Chrome and FireFox shows actually only cookies from your plugin and that is correct because I use only Google reCaptcha nothing else, also no social media. I never saw before cookies of WordFence and delete them from the list, because I like to hide that ;).

    In your widget showed in my cookies statement are:
    Complianz 3x
    WPML wp-wpml_current_language (never saw this one before in any browser)
    Missing in this list: the added Service “Google reCAPTCHA”

    I do not know if you can do something with this information, else its not that urgent but I was surprised about cookies such as those from WordFence and WPML, which browsers do not report and I did not knew about while using it for years.

    The plugin works very well ?? Only one suggestion for the development team:
    With WPML it’s a little fight: with my Dutch/english websites (site language English) the plugin somehow use Dutch as the language so WPML puts all Dutch strings into English. I have to translate Dutch -> English in the plugin and in WPML string translations add the Dutch again.

    Hi Alfa,

    For WPML, we’re testing now locally and if there’s a bug, or issue with our article we will fix it.

    WordFence might collect IP addresses to block brute force attacks, or check against blacklisted IP addresses, or ranges. These are functional, but should be added to your cookie policy for transparancy.

    For the WPML cookies, the wp-wpml_current_admin_language_d41d8c…..can be deleted. However wp-wpml_current_language is used to verify the language by browser settings and is considered a functional cookie and should be added to your cookie policy.
