Cookies and Cream Photography Theme

  • Many of you have been asking for my photography theme for months. I haven’t had time to do a full makeover of the theme with all the bells & whistles that I’d like, but I’ve decided to at least release it for testing and feedback.

    Please use the thread here for any questions or comments related to the the Cookies and Cream Photography Theme. I hope this will satify folks who’ve been looking for an alternative theme for their photography blog.

  • I uploaded it but i got error on the Presentation/themes page, it say that the template is missing.

    Did you unzip the downloaded file and upload only the cookiesandcream template folder?

    Yes, I uploaded only that folder.

    I had some trouble unzipping. It extracted okay when I said no to replace an existing file.

    Then I had a problem seeing the theme correctly in the Presentation tab in WP. I wound up cleaning up your heading information in the stylesheet to look like:

    /*
    Theme Name: Cookies and Cream
    Theme URI: https://www.kineda.com/?page_id=1078
    Description: A Wonderful WordPress Photography Theme
    Author: Terry Ng
    Author URI: https://www.kineda.com
    Version: 0.75
    For General Use. Do not alter credits.
    */

    Once I was able to eliminate the other extraneous stuff, I was able to see the screenshot in Presentation and activate the theme.

    Hi Kineda ..

    What does your theme do with comments?

    I’m not a photographer, but I have one site that has just pictures of my pets and some stuff ‘blogged’ directly from Flickr. Generally, I was using the actual post of the picture and some description .. but if I were to switch to a theme like this one – I would need something to describe the pictures. What do you think .. would this work for https://PapillonLvr.com/blog/ ?

    I haven’t yet downloaded your theme at this point, but it looks nice.

    Comments aren’t enabled at this point. It was created as a way for photographers to show off their daily works or portfolio.

    I love this theme too. Thanks for offering it up.

    I am thinking that the “current photo” link should be

    <?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>

    instead of /index.php. That way it will automatically pick up the address that the user sets in the “Options” page

    i no longer using this theme but it is still great.

    When I installed the theme, there is no Stylesheet at all.

    Is this something I have done wrong?
