Version 1.8 brings new features, including analytics from Facebook and support for ShareThis counts and analytics in an upcoming release. To enable analytics, non-personally identifiable browsing data is stored and aggregated, and also used for interest based targeting of ads elsewhere.

Since you are updating from a previous version, these features are only activated if you click to accept the terms.

How do I downgrade? I don’t like ShareThis. I don’t want to be there poduct So either make it optional, or provide a downgrade version without sharethis.

You’re able to downgrade versions of our widget by going to our developer page and downloading an earlier version.

Please bare in mind that older versions are no longer supported and do not have access to new features.

Update: It appears that v1.7.11 is ok too if you have a copy.

If you’re following these instructions, you need to revert to v1.7.9 to get a version before ShareThis added tracking to the plugin.

While I’m happy to know that the Social Media Feather developer made money from their excellent efforts by selling, this is a deal killer for me too. RIP
