    Hi team,

We’re seeing a cookie set on every page, even if contact forms are limited to only one (or a couple) of pages.

This is impacting our full-page caching, as we don’t want to cache the cookie. However, I’m not sure if the cookie is needed on every pageload.

Can you please let us know if this can safely be limited to just the pages that the contact form appears on? If so, is there a pre-defined function we can use?

    Hi,

Contact Form plugin by BestWebSoft creates only cookie to hide an advertising banner in the admin panel.

    1) Please specify a link to your website.
    2) Please try deactivating all of your plugins except Contact Form and also check if the problem is still present. If it is not, please activate the plugins one-by-one, meanwhile checking, after which plugin activation the problem appears again.

    Sincerely,
    BestWebSoft Support Team

Hi, thanks for your prompt response.

    We are seeing:

    $curl -I travelingpanties.com
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Sun, 09 Aug 2015 09:18:34 GMT
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
    Connection: keep-alive
    Keep-Alive: timeout=30
    Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT
    Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0
    Pragma: no-cache
    X-Pingback: https://travelingpanties.com/xmlrpc.php
    Set-Cookie: PHPSESSID=epatr73ai0tevuhopmmnabpv01; path=/
    Vary: Accept-Encoding, X-User-Agent
    Server: Pagely Gateway/1.4.6
    X-User-Agent: standard
    X-Cache-Config: 0 0
    X-Cache-Status: MISS

PHPSESSID seems to be set by session_start() in line 44 of contact_form.php, using TwentyFifteen with only this plugin active, we still get the cookie ID, so I’m pretty sure it’s yours.

    Hi again,

Yes, you’re right, when activating Cоntact Form plugin a session is created and its ID added to cookie for storage and future using. As a rule it doesn’t create any problems for pages cashing.

You can disable cookie on pages you want. However, please note that in such way you can affect on your site’s work, as some WordPress functionality won’t be available without cookie.
