    Hi,

First off, thanks for the work on CookieYes, I love the new interface & layout, happy with the accessibility and the language tab!

For website translation, I have been happily using Falang Multilanguage (www.ads-software.com/plugins/falang/) for years. Developer Stéphane Bouey helped me a few years ago fixing the string translation for the (now legacy interface) of CookieYes and that has been working well since. I asked him for a solution to have Falang working with the new CookieYes interface.

So he created a modified version of his plugin (to be published next week) and gave me a modified version of cookie-law-info/lite/includes/class-i18n-helpers.php

It has 3 changes and adds a method similar to polylang (adds falang_current_language and falang_default_language).

    changes to class-i18n-helpers.php:
    – line 56 added Falang definition
    – line 81 inserted Falang part, similar to Polylang entry
    – line 127 inserted Falang part, similar to Polylang entry

With that, CookieYes translation works fine again with the new interface, also with Falang.

So my question to you is: Would it be possible to add Falang to the translation possibilities in a future version of your plugin?

I can send you the modified class-i18n-helpers.php, and Stéphane says you can also contact him directly if needed through faboba.com.

    Thank you in advance!

    Rob

    Hi @rdc2701,

Thank you for your patience. To make the Falang translation plugin compatible, we created a code snippet. Use this code in your active child themes’ functions.php file to have the plugin display the content of the banner in the appropriate language based on the language of your website.

    Hi CookieYes Team,

Thank you for the prompt response and fix, this works fine when added to functions.php. This is certainly a good solution.

Still, would it be possible (maybe in a future version of CookieYes) to include a modified version of wp-content/plugins/cookie-law-info/lite/includes/class-i18n-helpers.php to support Falang directly? Stéphane has prepared a modified version and can send it to you. That way the translation would work with Falang without the need for functions.php code.

Thanks again for the fix and for your time! Have a good day

    Hi @rdc2701,

Thank you for your positive feedback. Currently, we cannot make a commitment to integrate with the Falang plugin. But, we will evaluate the possibility of incorporating this in the future, taking into account the number of users who use the Falang plugin for translation purposes.

    We hope this makes sense.
    Have a great day!

Thanks for all the information, i have update my documentation about your plugin to support Falang and add in the pro Falang version the a filter to translate it without funciton.php change

    Stéphane
