Is it overkill to have the Yoast settings where it tags posts “this post appeared first on ____” and also the plugin “WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click” at the same time to protect SEO and rank?

I’m trying to clean out plugins that I don’t need.

Is it enough just to have Yoast?

  • Hi,

You identified several issues. We have responded to them below.

    1. Is it overkill to have the Yoast settings where it tags posts “this post appeared first on ____”
Can you elaborate more on what this is expected to refer to? Are you wanting Yoast to tell you the publication date or something else?

    2. and also the plugin “WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click” at the same time to protect SEO and rank?
If you have that plugin we would expect Google to still be able to scan your site.

I was basically asking if it’s overkill to have both plugins at the same time or will Yoast do the trick?

While we are not familiar with the other plugin you are using to protect your content, the Yoast functionality is there only to add some content to your RSS feeds so others can’t just add your content to their site using your RSS feeds, as they would also see where the original content was from

This functionality seems different than what the other plugin does. Having said this, disabling right-click and other functionalities can have an impact on how users can read your site, for example when someone is using a screen reader or any other assistive technology.

    Thanks!
