• With the new 5.0 editor, seems like if you copy and paste an image from an external site, instead of adding the image to your media library, the image src is set to the external site. Is there any way to paste images in the editor and have them added to your own media library? It seems pretty cumbersome to have to download the image, then upload it separately, then go into your post and change the image source manually. Any ideas on this appreciated!

    Thanks for you response!

    – This plugin partially works in that it does remove the need to download the file, then upload it.
    – It says tested with up to 4.8, but it worked in 5.0 for me.
    – The downside is that to use it, you still need to exit the post you are writing/editing and go into the media library, use the upload tool, then navigate back to the post you were working on, and add from media library.

I’m starting to think that my ‘issue’ is actually more the expected/designed behavior of Gutenberg? Perhaps, I should post this as a feature idea in the other forum?
