Is there a way I can duplicate an entire custom post type with the posts under a different custom post type name?

Are you wanting to keep both? Say you have 25 in post type A, you want to make a new post type with all the same 25 posts, giving 50 total. Or are you wanting to just keep the new one? Just trying to make sure I understand the breadth of this question ??

Yes I want to keep both. So basically duplicating post type A into post type B.

The posts also have ACF Flexible content. But if they can be duplicated I am guessing this wont be an issue?

    Hi Michael

Sorry but do you think this is possible?

I’m sure it is, but it really depends on how much “grunt” work one wants to do to achieve it. I don’t have a one stop solution answer for this. Duplicating the post type within CPTUI is actually really easy, just a case of “rename” the post type and DO NOT check the “migrate” posts part. However, we don’t have any functionality to duplicate the posts into the new post type with CPTUI.

I know of the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/duplicate-post/, and also https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-type-switcher/ but if you have 100s or more of posts needing duplicated, then it’s still a rather large task ahead.

    Hi Michael

Thanks for your help. I have managed to find away around this by doing exactly what you have just suggested. It works a treat.

    Cheers
