• For the last several days, I have been unable to copy content blocks from one page to another. Both pages are on the same domain. The site that has an ssl certificate. Sometimes when I try to paste a block, it deletes/replaces the parent block in focus. Sometimes it never pastes anything despite getting the successful prompt at bottom left of page (block box) stating that copy action was successful. Patterns that I have saved do not insert. I can not detach a pattern once placed either. It’s getting pretty messy. Trust is falling fast. Please help.

Mac Sonoma 14.5
Google Chrome (and tested on Safari as well; symptoms persisted)Version 125.0.6422.113 (Official Build) (arm64)
WordPress 6.5.3
Blocksy 2.0.50

I have tried clearing cache, copy/pasting from different pages, etc. no change in outcomes.

Thanks.

Hi @digital-ninja that sounds unusual.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.

There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/

Thank you for replying. I gave all of this a shot but nothing helped. Additionally, I’m trying to stand up a new site for another client and I had to create a fresh install of WordPress. Before I added any plugins, I tried to copy/past blocks within the same page and across pages. Same unfortunate outcome (replaces the block I’m trying to paste into instead of adding the block I’ve copied as a sibling block. The problem persists across Chrome and Safari browsers both with fresh caches. Very, very, very annoying.

Hey @digital-ninja thanks for trying that out. It sounds like this may be a bug that is worth reporting so the developers can take a look.
