Copying an outline

Ok, here’s one for you….
I’ve got a Word Document that is in outline format. I want to copy it, preserving the outline format into a post in my site….. If it wasn’t such a mess, I’d simply “Save As Webpage” and copy the HTML that results, but MS being the wonderful folks they are, put in a bunch of other junk….. Although, I wonder of OpenOffice will work….
