    Hi there,

When I copy a button, the new copied button looks fine in the edit page, but when viewed in my page (in the browser) the new copy retains the original background colour OK, but then uses the HOVER colour for the hover TEXT colour! Sometimes it retains the hover background colour and sometimes it doesn’t – very weird, as it always looks exactly how I want it to in the button editor.

I’ve put an eg of this on a page temporarily here: https://www.trevorpenfold.com/competitions. So the text should remain white all the time and the hover background colour is set to the blue – but shows in the text instead!

This has been a problem for a while now, and the only way to get around it is to create a new button from scratch. Even then, it sometimes uses the background hover colour for the hover text colour.

I’ve tried deactivating and reactivating it, but no change.

    Any suggestions please?
    Thanks.

This might be the same theme problem that I just had:

To get the right font color just tick the ceckbox in the bottom of the edit button page that says “Adding !important to the button styles can help avoid potential conflicts with your theme styles.”

    Use !important = Checked

Agreed with @wm try using the !important option.

Thanks for your replies – i double checked i’d done that (as i usually do) and found I hadn’t this time. But unfortunately it made no difference even after doing that.

NB: my first page eg above no longer applies. My eg page has changed to this now; https://trevorpenfold.com/competitions/hamilton-zoo-photography-competition-2014/ where the text should remain white and the button hover should change to blue. As you can see it doesn’t!

I’ve checked the page source when looking at it in the browser window, and it does say that the text is #ffffff !important so I’m stuck – any other ideas?

    Cheers.

OK, not sure why, but the button text and hover colours now work as they should do! So sorted for now, and just hope it’s resolved for future buttons too.
    Thanks for your input.

Looks like the color gnomes have moved off of your server. Feel free to start a new topic if this happens again.
